Engagement Photoshoot Makeup - My Sister's Announcement!
Updated: Dec 30, 2020
On November 22, 2020 my big sister and very best friend, Emily, was proposed to. My sister's boyfriend popped the question while the two of them were on vacation in Kansas City. To say I'm an excited sissy is a major understatement!
To announce their big news, Ben and Emily had their photos taken by the very talent, Dani Stephenson Photography. They planned to share the announcement via Christmas cards and social media. A super cute idea if you're sharing big news around the holiday!
Emily asked if I would do makeup for the shoot, and I of course said YES! Not quite as excitedly as she said yes to the proposal, but you get the point. ;)
Their photoshoot was very early in the morning, so Emily arrived to my house around 7:00 A.M. We got straight to work. Luckily for Emily, I've done her makeup many many times.... She gets to sit back, relax and let me take control.
Since their announcement photos would be taken outside, I knew there would be lots of natural light. One tip when it comes to outdoor photos, is to enhance the makeup even more than usual. Natural light and flash photography can wash out makeup, so it never hurts to ensure the colors are bright and bold.
Emily wore my all-time favorite Maybelline lipstick, in shade "Seek Adventure". I recommend this to every bride and client! It works like literal magic. I promise, you will not regret trying it yourself!
Emily and Ben's photos turned out absolutely adorable. I love the cozy, holiday vibes. Dani did a great job photographing the two as a couple. I am so proud to share them on my blog!
